Men's Tennis Plays Back-to-Back Conference Matches

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - With only seven matches remaining in its regular season, the University of Maryland men's tennis team faces two Atlantic Coast Conference opponents with the hopes of clinching its first ACC win of the season. Maryland's spring record stands at 5-5, 0-4 in the ACC. The Terps will play host to No. 46 Wake Forest, Sunday at 11 a.m., and will travel to Chapel Hill to take on North Carolina, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
Last time out, Maryland was defeated 7-0 by Clemson at the Hoke A. Sloan Tennis Center. On Mar. 16 the Terps' rescheduled match up with the Loyola Greyhounds was once again postponed. Rain storms washed away the Terps chances of ending their three game loosing skid.
Maryland's conference stretch continues to be trying, as seven of the nine teams in the league have received rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Terps next two match ups are no excetption.
Wake Forest, who is ranked No. 46 by the ITA, comes into College Park on Sunday with a three match win streak. Their most recent win coming 5-2 over Furman on Mar. 17. The Demon Deacons are 7-5, 0-1 in the ACC.
North Carolina is 13-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference action. The Tar Heels are currently ranked No. 19 in the ITA.
