Maryland's NCAA Tournament second-round game vs. fourth-seeded LSU has been scheduled for a 9 p.m. ET tip-off on Tuesday, March 23 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La. The Terps defeated fifth-seeded Miami (Fla.), 86-85, in the first round to advance.
The only 12 seed still alive in the tournament, the Terps' (18-12) thrilling victory over the Hurricanes on Sunday night was their first in the NCAA Tournament since 1992. Maryland is also one of just two ACC squads advancing as Duke topped Northwestern St., while North Carolina and NC State both bowed out in the opening round.
Tuesday night's game with LSU (24-7) marks the third meeting between the teams. The series is tied at 1-1, with the last meeting coming during the 1986-87 campaign. Ranked 19th in both national polls, the Tigers defeated Austin Peay, 83-66, in their opening-round game.
The winner of Tuesday night's game moves on to play in the West Regional finals in Seattle, March 27 and 29.
