Terps Today (TT): Is the media guide wrong is your real name Mary?
Molly Lambert (ML): My name's not really Molly. I think it's an Irish-Catholic thing because I know a lot of Molly's whose real name is Mary. I don't think it's that uncommon. My parents named me Mary knowing they were going to call me Molly because they wanted me to have a Catholic name.
TT: Who is the toughest player you've gone against?
ML: Amy Appelt of Virginia because she's like a tank.
TT: What's your favorite quote from Coach Timchal?
ML: At practice, if someone's not going hard, she'll say, "What are you saving it for, Team Toyota (a club team)?"
TT: How do you order your Chipotle burrito?
ML: Chicken burrito, rice, hot salsa, sour cream lettuce and guacamole on the side.
TT: What's the best thing about playing at Maryland?
ML: The relationships that you build with other girls.
TT: What's the one piece of advice you'd like to leave for a freshman lacrosse player next year.
ML: If you're not playing much in the beginning, don't get discouraged, because I think that happens a lot. People come in here that play so well and then they don't play right away. They just can't forget how good they were when they came in.
TT: Favorite movie of all time?
ML: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is definitely up there.
TT: If you could have 50 pounds of anything, what would it be?
ML: I guess I'll say guacamole. I love guac. I love avocados.
TT: What are you going to do when you graduate?
ML: I definitely want to travel, go to Australia and Europe. Then when I get back, I'll probably go back to school. I want to be like a guidance counselor or something.
TT: That should come in handy as a team captain...
ML: I guess so. I think the girls feel comfortable coming to me for advice.
TT: What's the first CD you ever bought?
ML: I don't know the name of it, but the one that has the "Free Willy'"song ("Hold Me") on it.
TT: What's the most embarrassing CD in your collection?
ML: The soundtrack from Rent.
TT: What's your secret ambition?
ML: I would love to open a bar in the Caribbean Islands.
T: Who has the best fast food french fries?
ML: I'll have to say Burger King over McDonald's.
