University of Maryland freshman Mollie Reese was named ACC Freshman of the Year today based on a vote by the league's coaches. The attacker notched eight goals and two assists for ten points on the season. Reese started in all of the Terrapins' 14 games and scooped up 23 ground balls.
In addition, five Terps were named All-ACC, the most of any team in the league. Annie Collins, Kelly Coppedge, Delia Cox, Greta Sommers and Acacia Walker were all named to the 12-member team. The team features five representatives from Maryland, three apiece from Duke and Virginia and one from North Carolina. The team was selected by a vote of the league's four head coaches.
Virginia's Amy Appelt was named the ACC Player of the Year and Duke head coach Kerstin Kimel was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Blue Devils to a perfect 3-0 ACC record.
