Terps Today (TT): If you could have 50 pounds of anything, what would it be?
Laura Warren (LW): Soft-batch chocolate chip cookies.
TT: How did you end up at the University of Maryland from Wales?
LW: I was at a university in England, and one day I got an e-mail from Cindy - I never met her or spoke to her before. It was just like three sentences, and it basically asked if I wanted to play at Maryland, and I just came. I never saw any of the people or visited the campus, I just came. I had played against a few people in the World Cup, but that's about it.
TT: What was the toughest adjustment being away from home?
LW: The schoolwork is so much different.
TT: What food do you miss from back home?
LW: Fish and chips. And my mom's roast dinner - it's like a big Sunday dinner with chicken, potatoes, vegetables, lamb...
TT: What's the best thing about playing at Maryland?
LW: The team spirit.
TT: Which teammate do you admire most and why?
LW: I'll have to say Tess (McLeod) and Kelly (Coppedge). With Tess, we started at Maryland at the same time and we both came from different countries. She hasn't gone home at all and it's good to see her strength. And Kelly because that girl is just outstanding to watch.
TT: How do you order your burrito at Chipotle?
LW: Chicken burrito, no beans. And then I like lettuce, tomato and corn and that's it.
TT: What's your favorite Coach Timchal quote?
LW: "Go visit the man in the hut."
TT: Where's your favorite place to visit?
LW: Malta. It's this island in Eurpoe that's where my grandfather is from. It's south of Italy. It's a beautiful, sleepy island.
TT: What other sports did you play growing up?
LW: Soccer, field hockey, tennis. I actually played for Wales back at home on the U-18 and U-21 sides for soccer.
TT: Favorite musicians?
LW: U-2.
TT: What's your secret ambition?
LW: I just want become a really good teacher back at home.
TT: What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
LW: I'm going traveling around the world after I'm done with school. I have an around-the-world ticket and I'm going with two friends from home. We're going to like Cairo, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji.
