COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Liberty Postgame Quotes vs. DePaul

Head Coach Carey Green

On the victory over DePaul: I'm so excited for these young ladies. It's a pleasure to work with ladies that are so focused. It was a dogfight. If you did your homework and looking at both teams its was going to be a fight. It was a classic. You had the No. 1 rebounding team in the country, that's Liberty, against the No. 2 rebounding team in the country and that's DePaul. You had the No. 1 scoring team in the country in DePaul against the No. 1 defensive field goal percentage team in the country in Liberty. We won out.

On whether Liberty is a one-woman team: I would like our opponents to think we are a one-person team. Just key in on Katie Feenstra all you want, there is very little you can do about 6-8 and the strength that she's got. But you key in and think we are a one-woman show, I have a lot of confidence in four other girls on the floor and quite a bit on the bench as well. Katie is an impact player, there is not doubt about it, because she has skills at 6-8. We have other players that can make us successful.

Senior Center Katie Feenstra

On play of teammates when she was on the bench for a long stretch during the first half: If I'm in foul trouble, so be it. I'm on the bench and I have some other teammates that can go in there and really take it to them. That's what K.P. (Karolina Piotrkiewicz) did. She is an amazing player. She challenges me every single day in practice. I was so happy for her that she got to get out there and show everybody how she can play.

On how Liberty got back into game after DePaul took the lead in the second half: Coach Green has been preaching to us the entire game that we need to rebound. We didn't do a very good job in the first half with that. And we kind of picked it up in the second half. When they got up six on us, the thing that went through my mind was that we have to box out and rebound. We can't let them get anymore offensive rebounds. We just had to stick a butt in them. That was what kept going through my mind, stick a butt in them, and I think we did that.

On whether Liberty is a one-woman team: They are totally wrong if they think that. They need to rethink how they think. I can't do anything without my teammates. I'm 6-8 and if you've seen me try and dribble the ball, it's pathetic. My teammates need to bring the ball up the court and they need to give me the ball. They are wrong if they think this is a one-person team.

Senior Guard Kristal Tharp

On play of bench: We play against the best players in the country in practice. We work so hard against each other and that just prepares us for the game. When starters are in foul trouble our bench comes in and they can do just as much as the starters.

On the response Liberty made after DePaul rallied to take the lead: You can't get rattled. Our point guard always told us that they're going to go on runs and we may help them out with turnovers, but you have to stay focused and keep your head in the game.
