COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The competitive cheer squad earned high score of the day at the UMBC Championships in Catonsville, Md. After a three week period without competing, the squad added a double full basket toss to increase the routine's overall difficulty in preparation for the NCA College Nationals in April.
This weekend's competition was the first time the team competed on a non-spring floor and the first competition for the final group of twenty who will compete at the NCA College Nationals. Coach Fleece will continue this week to work on the team's tumbling passes.
Next weekend the squad will compete at the Atlantic Cheer and Dance National in Fairfax, Va., their final competition and preparation for NCA College Nationals.
