COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The competitive cheer team competed today in the Maryland Championships in Cole Field House. This event marks the start of a series of highly competitive meets for the squad.
While many teams were not able to make it to College Park for today's event due to the weather, coach Lura Fleece was glad to have the opportunity to see the final touches she had made to this year's routine during the university's holiday. "At this point in the season everytime we can take the mat makes us that much stronger," Fleece noted.
The squad can be seen next at the Maryland Cup on Jan. 29.
