FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) - Crystal Langhorne scored 16 points and Laura Harper had 11 to help No. 1 Maryland rout Gardner-Webb 83-41 on Friday night in the fourth annual Junkanoo Jam on Grand Bahama Island.

Maryland (6-0) scored the first 13 points of the game and led 24-2. On the other end, Gardner-Webb (2-3) missed 20 of its first 24 attempts from the field, while Maryland hit 16 of its first 28 shots.

The Running Bulldogs had a hard time containing Maryland's posts, as Langhorne and Laura Harper combined for 9-for-13 shooting and 21 of the Terps' 45 first-half points. Both also had 10 rebounds, one less than GWU's entire team.

The Terps shot 61.3 percent from the field during the opening 20 minutes and outrebounded Gardner-Webb, 24-11. GWU also made just 19 percent of its shot attempts.

It was 38-8 with 3:48 to play in the first half, and Maryland coach Brenda Frese pulled most of her starters early in the second half.

"You can't complain when you're coming here to the Bahamas," Frese said. "They've had a couple of wonderful days and enjoyed [Thanksgiving] and getting ready to play some games. I thought we had great first-half intensity. I think we need to do a much better job of picking up our intensity from half to half, especially on the defensive end."

In the second period, it was Marissa Coleman who the Bulldogs struggled to control. She was 5-for-5 from the floor and scored 14 of her 18 points. Gardner-Webb did not get closer than 34 points early in the second period.

Coleman led all scorers with 18 points, while GWU's Candyse Kelly led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Shay Doron netted 10 points as four Terrapins reached double figures. She also had six rebounds.

Maryland will play Mississippi on Saturday night in the championship game.
