Maryland Falls To Florida State

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Men's Tennis Team fell to no. 24 Florida State, 6-1. The no. 68 ranked Terrapins are now 8-3 overall and 1-2 in the ACC. The men beat Florida State in the second doubles match.

Andrew Orban and Scott Fink lost in the first doubles match. Andreas Vaage-Nilsen and Boris Fetbroyt fought for a Terrapin victory in doubles, but were narrowly defeated, 9-7. Josh Brauser and Michael Coleman brought Maryland their third doubles loss, 8-3.

Andreas Vaage-Nilsen brought Maryland their only win defeating Jonathas Sucupira in the second singles match. Vaage-Nilsen easily won the first set 6-2. Sucupira, grabbing the second set, 5-7, was ultimately defeated 10-4 in the third set, handing Nielsen the win.

Orban, who played first for the Terps, fell in his match 6-0, 6-3. Third singles Nielsen also fell, 6-3, 6-2. Fourth and fifth singles Fink and Fetbroyt fell 5-1, ret. and 6-1, 6-1, respectively. Sixth singles John O'Rourke also fell, 6-1, 6-1.

Maryland will take on Miami, Sunday, March 26 at the Tennis Center at College Park.
