No. 14 Miami Defeats No. 68 Maryland, 7-0

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - No. 68 Maryland Men's Tennis Team fell in three doubles sets and six singles sets to No. 14 Miami in their fourth Atlantic Coast Conference. Maryland's record is now 8-4, 1-3 in the ACC. The match was played on Sunday at the Tennis Center at College Park.
Josh Brauser and Boris Fetbroyt played first for Maryland, falling 8-2. Scott Fink and Nickolai Nielsen, who played second for the Terps, also fell 8-3. Miami now had a 1-0 lead over the Terrapins.
Heading into the singles matches, No. 93 Nielsen was first to play for the Terps. He faced No. 7 Luigi D'Agord, who defeated Nielsen 6-3, 6-2. Andreas Vaage-Nilsen played second for the Terps, falling 6-3, 6-4.
Third singles Fetbroyt also fell, 6-4, 6-1. The match was now decided in Miami's favor with a 4-0 lead. Fink played fourth singles for Maryland against Eric Hechtman. Fink also fell, 7-5, 6-2.
Aaron Carr played fifth singles for the Terps. After losing 6-2 in the first set, Carr came back to win the second, 6-3. A 10-5 outcome in the super tiebreaker decided the match in Miami's favor.
Sixth singles John O'Rourke had the closest match of the day, facing Vivek Subramanian. After winning, 6-3, in the first set and losing, 6-0, in the second, the final match was dependent on the outcome of the super tiebreaker. With the lead bouncing back and fourth between O'Rourke and Subramanian, O'Rourke finally fell 11-9.
Maryland will host Navy on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
