Maryland Drops To No. 21 Clemson, 6-1

CLEMSON, S.C. - Scott Fink for the second day in a row grabbed the only win for Maryland of the day in a match played against Clemson on Saturday. The Terps lost, 6-1, finalizing their record at 9-11, 1-10 in the ACC.
Nickolai Nilsen and Andreas Vaage-Nilsen started play for the Terps at No. 1 doubles. They were defeated, 8-4. Second doubles Boris Fetbroyt and Scott Fink also suffered a loss at No. 2 doubles, 8-2.
Nielsen started out the singles matches for the Terrapins with his team at a 1-0 disadvantage. Nielsen played a tough match, but lost in two sets, 6-3, 6-4. Vaage-Nilsen fell in his match, 6-0, 6-1.
Third singles Fink was the only singles match to grasp a victory for the Terps. At the No. 3 singles, Fink defeated his opponent in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6. Fourth singles Fetbroyt lost, 6-2, 6-2. Fifth and sixth singles John O'Rourke and Aaron Carr also were defeated. O'Rourke fell, 6-2, 6-3, while Carr's final scores were, 6-2, 6-4.
The Terps will head to Cary, N.C. for the ACC Championships April 20-23.
