COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland Women's Basketball season ticket sales surged by nearly 2,000 following the Terps National Championship victory over Duke on April 4, doubling the existing season ticket base in less than two weeks, Maryland Athletics announced today. Over 500 new season tickets were sold the morning after the Championship game, as excited fans took advantage of ticket specials offered by the Athletic Department.
"Coach [Brenda] Frese and our women's basketball team are so pleased to see so many thousands of Terps fans make the commitment to attend our 2006-07 games in Comcast. With all of our starters returning, we're looking forward to a terrific season," said Director of Athletics Deborah A. Yow.
As the team advanced through the NCAA Tournament and to the Final Four in Boston, the Athletic Department launched an aggressive series of ticket specials, designed to capitalize on the unprecedented interest in Maryland Women's Basketball. Fans can still take advantage of the ticket specials by purchasing new or renewing existing season tickets by April 30.

Final Four RENEWAL Season Ticket Special - Existing season ticket holders can renew their same seats at the 2005-06 prices, receive 4 free tickets to a home game of their choice, and receive a limited-edition, commemorative ticket sheet autographed by Brenda Frese and the entire Maryland Women's Basketball team, if they renew by April 30.
