Maryland Drops To No. 6 Duke, 7-0

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland's Men's Tennis Team lost on Sunday to No. 6 Duke at the Tennis Center at College Park. Maryland's record is now 9-9, 1-8 in the ACC.
Josh Brauser and Boris Fetbroyt were the first to play doubles for Maryland, facing No. 50 Joey Atas and Jonathan Stokke. Brauser and Fetbroyt fell to Duke, 8-3.
Second doubles Nickolai Nielsen and Andreas Vaage-Nilsen played No. 57 Peter Rodrigues and Stephen Amritraj. Maryland surprised the Blue Devils, winning 8-5, and tying the doubles 1-1. However, in the third doubles match, Scott Fink and Aaron Carr fell to Duke, 8-1.
With a 1-0 lead over Maryland, No. 106 Nielsen faced No. 4 Ludovic Walter. In a tight match, Nilsen fell in two sets, 6-4, 6-4. Second singles Vaage-Nilsen also closely fell to No. 37 Stokke, 6-4, 6-4.
Third singles Fetbroyt faced No. 70 Rodrigues of Duke. Fetbroyt faced some difficulty in his play, falling, 6-1, 6-1. Fink, playing fourth singles, fell closely in the first set, 6-3, and 6-0 in the second.
John O'Rourke, who played fifth singles for Maryland, played No. 111 Kiril Dimitrov. O'Rourke fell in two sets, 6-1, 6-2. Carr, last to play for the Terps in the singles matches, was defeated, 6-3, 6-1.
The Terps last two matches will be on the road, beginning with Georgia Tech on April 14 at 3 p.m.
