PRAGUE, Czech Republic - Playing in their second game in as many days, the Terrapin women's basketball team defeated Sparta Prague, 63-58, on Monday night in Prague, Czech Republic. Sophomore Crystal Langhorne led all scorers with 18 points.

Maryland had gotten off a five-hour bus ride just several hours before heading into the gym to face its second opponent for the second day in a row, but another balanced night lifted the Terps to victory. Sophomore Laura Harper (Elkins Park, Pa./Cheltenham) and freshman Marissa Coleman (Cheltenham, Md./St. John's College [D.C.]) each added 15.

The game was tightly contested from the start, with the teams battling to a tie at the break, 35-35. And while Sparta led for most of the game, it was not ahead by more than five points until the third quarter.

Halfway through the third period, the Terps trailed, 46-42. But a 9-0 run, keyed by a couple of buckets by Coleman, was the push they needed to jump out in front, 51-46, and keep the lead for the duration of the game.

In the waning seconds of the fourth quarter, Sparta did make a surge to come to within 66-63 on a three pointer from Lucie Kysilakova, who finished with a team-high 16 points. But Maryland's Kristi Toliver (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) knocked down a pair of free throws to seal the win.

Maryland is 2-0 in Europe after defeating Hertzogenburg, 86-83, in Austria on Sunday night. The team is off for a couple of days and will play Insep in back-to-back games on June 1 and 2 in Paris, France, to wrap up its European tour.
