Maryland Head Coach Brenda Frese
On Sunday's game:
"I'm extremely pleased and proud, obviously, of this game, as well as the toughness that we showed playing 14 games in 31 days. We played 12 different conferences in that time, so it's just exciting. I think we've seen other things, we're prepared and we're really coming out of this stretch with a tremendous amount of confidence. It was just a very physical game, but we kept our poise and our composure and really did a tremendous job for 40 minutes."
On the team's demanding schedule:
"They have earned a well-deserved break, so we're going to get away from each other. We're going to allow them to be students because I don't think the schedule has been very kind to allow them to be students first."
On why the schedule was made to be difficult:
"We only play 14 conference games, so when the NCAA, two years ago, added three more games to your non-conference slate, the WNIT games that we had in the preseason and the opportunities by ESPN came about late, to play Rutgers and Oklahoma. I like the fact that we have juniors and seniors that are hungry and want to play teams like this and want to play a tough schedule. It's been great to be able to be challenged like this."
Maryland senior Crystal Langhorne
On the how physical the game was:
"I know I've only been back for six games, but that was probably one of the more physical games I've played so far, other than Rutgers, but this could have been more physical than Rutgers."
Maryland junior Kristi Toliver
On how physical the game was:
"I thought UCLA played really physical, as well as UC Santa Barbara. That was a very physical trip and this game reminded me a lot of those teams."
Temple Head Coach Dawn Staley
On the game:
"We are a physical team. We play hard and have to outwork our opponents to do what we do. I think our players did a tremendous job of trying to attack and get to the basket. We will continue to get better in that area. Both teams were playing hard and trying to come away with the win."
On Maryland point guard Kristi Toliver:
"She is the key. Anytime you have a point guard like Kristi you have to contain her because she can distribute the basketball. She is doing extremely well, and probably the best point guard at this time in the country."
On Sunday's matchup:
"Offensively, they have a lot winners and are probably one of the best teams in the country. Defensively, I think we could have taken advantage of them on some areas of the floor."
Temple Senior Guard Ashley Morris
On Sunday's game:
"It was pretty physical. We have faced a lot of physical opponents, but that does not stop us for doing what we do. We play physical as well and it was a tough game."
