Maryland Performs in the Big Apple

March 12, 2007

The Maryland competitive cheer team gave a strong performance at the Big Apple Classic on Saturday; scoring 9.71 out of 11 points.

"Going into the Big Apple Classic this weekend we were expecting great things from our team," said assistant coach Carlos Munoz. "We stepped it up this weekend by making the stunting in their routine more difficult then it has been all year. The team performed two-man based stunts for the first time this season. Mimi Cuff and Dana Smith and their corresponding stunt groups did a great job hitting their stunts."

"Brynn Moyer and her stunt group perform a great second stunt sequence by hitting all her position and performing a double twisting dismount. After tumbling the Terrapins finished up strong by hitting there pyramid sequence and dance. This week we are dropping down from 32 to 20 performers as we get ready for our next competition."
