Men's Tennis Downs Boston College, 6-1

WEYMOUTH, Mass. - The Maryland Terrapins men's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over the Boston College Eagles (4-10, 0-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) earlier today at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass. No. 47 Maryland is now 10-2 on the spring season and 2-1 in ACC play.
Maryland began the day by sweeping the Eagles in doubles competition, and Boris Fetbroyt secured the conference victory at No. 6 singles against Boston College's Dennis Reardon, 7-5, 6-1.
Fetbroyt also contributed in doubles play with freshman David Kwon at the No. 1 position. The pair defeated Thomas Nolan and Jason Sechrist, 8-3.
Senior co-captain Scott Fink played with Andrew Orban at No. 2 doubles and overcame Sam Wagner and Alex Rastorgouev, 8-4.
Nicolas Frayssinoux paired with co-captain Nickolai Nielsen at No. 3 doubles and defeated Soma Kesthley and Brian Garber, 8-3.
The Terps took five wins in singles competition. Kwon played at the No. 2 position and outlasted Sechrist 6-0, 6-4, while Orban played at No. 3 and defeated Wagner, 6-2, 6-2.
Nielsen defeated Nolan 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4, and Fink won over Rastorgouev 7-5, 6-2.
Next up, the Terrapins will travel to sunny Florida for two more conference matches. Maryland will face off against the No. 31-ranked Florida State Seminoles at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, and then travel to Miami for a match against the No. 73 Hurricanes at noon Saturday.
