Postgame Notes
The loss drops Maryland's final record this season to 28-6.
Senior Shay Doron extends her Maryland team records for both games played and games started. Today's game marked her 134th in a Terrapin uniform, and she appeared in the starting lineup for the 119th time. Both are team records.
Doron finished her career with 1,878 points, behind only Vicky Bullett's 1,928 on the Maryland all-time record books.
Crystal Langhorne registered 14 points on the day, giving her 1,713 in her career at Maryland. She is just the third player in Maryland history to reach the 1,700 point plateau.
Langhorne scored 508 points this season. With 549 her freshman season and 654 last year, Langhorne has become the first person in team history to top the 500 point plateau three times in her career.
Langhorne, who finished the game with 14 points, has scored in double digits in all ten of her NCAA Tournament games during her career.
With eight rebounds, Langhorne moves into second place on the Maryland all-time rebounding list. She now has 939 in her career, passing Kris Kirchner, who pulled down 936 from 1978-80. Only Vicky Bullett remains ahead of Langhorne. Bullett had 968 rebounds from 1986-89.
Marissa Coleman nearly rebounded the Rebels by herself in the first half. Coleman had 10 first-half rebounds, and Mississippi had 11. Coleman finished the day with 12 boards.
Coleman recorded her third double-double in an NCAA Tournament game with her 12 rebounds and 20 points. It is the 18th double-double of her career and her ninth this season. The 20 points falls just one shy of a season-high.
Kristi Toliver, who knocked down three three-pointers on the day, set a new Maryland single-season record in that category. Toliver has hit 72 this season. Coming into the day, she was tied for the lead with Tiffany Brown, who hit 69 in the 1999-2000 season.
Toliver, who poured in 24 points, set a new season-high with that total. Her previous season high had been 20, which she had twice, most recently in the victory at Clemson on January 25.
Toliver dished out 3 assists, giving her 161 this season. That set the record for a sophomore at Maryland, as Toliver passed the previous record set by Carla Holmes, who had 158 in 1988-89.
