    RICHMOND, Va. - The No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team notched its fourth win of the season with a 15-9 win against No. 13 Richmond at First Market Stadium on March 7. Junior Casey Magor recorded a career high four assists and five points to lead the Terrapins.

    Junior Dana Dobbie notched her third hat trick of the season while securing four draw controls. Juniors Katie Princiotto and Kelly Kasper both added a pair of goals and assists while senior Krista Pellizzi had three goals.

    The Terps continued their first half dominance as it outscored the Spiders 10-2 before halftime. In four games this season, Maryland has outscored its opponent 43-15 in the opening frame.

    The Terrapins opened the game as Kasper found Pellizzi three and a half minutes in for the first score of the game. Jenna Hubbard tied the game as she converted a free-position at 24:44. The Terps then went on a nine goal run to open the game wide open. Maryland took a 10-1 lead as the scoring streak lasted for over 21 minutes.

    Kasper is the only Terp that scored two goals in the run as the Maryland offense hit Richmond with a balanced attack.

    Hubbard was able to notch a goal for the Spiders before the halftime whistle to make it 10-2 heading into the break.

    Richmond controlled the pace of the game in the early going of the second half as it scored three of the first four goals in the frame. Mandy Friend opened the scoring 39 seconds in with an unassisted tally to make it 10-3.

    Doolittle responded four minutes later as she converted on a free-position but Richmond came back with two more goals to make it 11-5 with 20:07 left in the game. Allison Furstenburg and Ashley Friend scored the goals for the Spiders.

    The Terps then went on a four-goal run that sealed the victory. Magor hooked up with Dobbie twice in the run while Pellizzi and Princiotto added goals. The run extended the Maryland lead to 15-5 with 16:44 to go in the game.

    Richmond did not let down and went on its most impressive run of the day to close out the game. Furstenburg contributed two more goals for the Spiders while Mandy Friend and Hubbard added one more to their total.

    For Richmond (3-3), Hubbard and Furstenburg both recorded hat tricks. Ashley Friend had a goal and a pair of assists while Mandy Friend added two goals.

    Maryland (4-0) is back in action on Saturday, March 10 when it hosts Brown at noon at the Lacrosse & Field Hockey Complex.
