April 16, 2007

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Terrapins men's tennis team earned the No. 11 seed in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, which begins Thursday morning in Cary, N.C. They will battle against the No. 6-seeded Florida State at 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

No. 57 Maryland (10-10, 2-9 ACC) looks to avenge a 6-1 loss Florida State (14-8, 6-5 ACC) handed them last month in Tallahassee.

Virginia picked up the No. 1 seed with a perfect 11-0 finish in ACC action this spring. The Cavaliers are the only team to achieve this feat in ACC history.

Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, and Wake Forest all received a first-round bye.

Coverage of both the men's and women's tournaments will be broadcast live at ACCSelect.com beginning on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. The tournament's finale will air at 11:00 a.m. Sunday.
