Terrapins Fall in First Round of ACC Tournament

CARY, N.C. - The Maryland men's tennis team, the #11 seed, lost in the first round of the ACC Tournament to the # 6 seed Florida State, 4-0, Thursday night. The match was postponed to 6:30 p.m. and was played at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Stadium on the University of North Carolina campus.
The Seminoles won all three doubles matches to earn one point. The Maryland duo of Andrew Orban and Boris Fetbroyt fell to Jonathan Sucupira and Sam Chang, 8-6. Nicolas Frayssinoux and Scott Fink lost to Ytai Abougzir and Bradley Mixon, 8-5, and David Kwon and Trey Taylor dropped their match to Maciek Sykut and Jean-Yves Aubone, 8-5.
In the singles portion of the match, Kwon fell to Aubone, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 2 singles slot and Nikolai Nielsen lost to Sykut, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles position. At the No. 5 slot, Fink dropped his match to Chang, 6-0, 6-2. Frayssinoux, Orban and Fetbroyt did not finish their matches at the 1, 3 and 6 singles positions.
