Virginia's Blair Weymouth deadlocked the game again when she tallied an unassisted goal after a Maryland foul at 16:03, but the Terrapins took the lead again, 3-2, when Magor dished an assist to Cohen at 14:19.
Weymouth scored the next equalizer for Virginia as Havrilla got credit for the assist at 12:04. The Terps then took advantage of a fast break opportunity as Princotto found a slashing Dobbie down the middle of the field for the score to take another lead, 4-3, with 5:33 left in the half.

Virginia called a timeout and scored 18 seconds after that to start its game-winning 6-0 run. Brittany Kalkstein scored on a free position to cut the lead to 7-5 at 16:07.
