Maryland (16-3), the fifth seed in the NCAA tournament, advances to play No. 2 Pennsylvania (15-1), the fourth seed, on May 19 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. The Quakers beat Boston University, 11-5, this afternoon.

From the opening draw, the pace was slow as both offenses searched for the best shots on net. The Terps struck first nearly 10 minutes into the game when Dobbie used a pass from freshman Caitlyn McFadden for her 51st goal of the year.

The nation's leading goal scorer, Lauren Taylor, responded quickly when she netted Yale's first goal of the afternoon 1:24 seconds later. She fired a free position shot just below the crossbar for the equalizer. Just over a minute later, the Terps scored again when Pellizzi tallied her first score of the day to make it 2-1, a lead Maryland would never give up.

At the 16:50 mark, Dobbie controlled the ball behind the Yale net and found Kasper sitting on the right side of the goal all alone. Kasper connected for the score to make it 3-1. Taylor scored the only other first half goal for the Bulldogs with 12:09 to go, but Maryland snuck a goal in before the half when Pellizzi used a Kasper pass to score with 30 seconds left. The Terps took a 4-2 lead into the half.

Maryland started the second half on fire by scoring the first three goals and six of the first seven to build an insurmountable 10-3 lead. Senior Katie Doolittle got things going when she scored 41 seconds in and then Pellizzi and Kasper added two more unassisted goals to extend the lead to 7-2 at the 18:17 mark.

Marya Myers ended the Terps' streak with a goal for the Bulldogs at 16:58, but Dobbie, Kasper, and Pellizzi all converted free position opportunities for the 10-3 advantage.

Yale added three of the next four goals to get within five, 11-6, with 8:03 left in the game, but junior Casey Magor sealed the win for the Terps with a pair of goals 17 seconds apart.

Taylor led Yale (13-4) with four goals while Myers added two of her own. Ellen Cameron was credited with 13 saves in a losing effort.
