Dobbie Earns ACC Co-Player of the Week Honors

March 25, 2008

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior midfielder Dana Dobbie was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on March 25 for her performance in a pair of Maryland victories last week. Dobbie scored 10 goals, including seven at No. 10 Stanford, which matched her career high. She shares the award with North Carolina's Megan Bosica who led the Tar Heels to an ACC win against Duke.

Dobbie helped the Terps extend their winning streak to six games with the two victories last week. In a win at No. 15 Johns Hopkins on March 17, she scored a hat trick and added three draw controls in a 16-8 victory.

She then tied her career high with seven goals in a 15-7 win at No. 10 Stanford on March 22. She also added an assist, a team-high five draw controls, two groundballs and a caused turnover. Dobbie led the game-clinching run in the second half with three goals in a five-goal run for the Terps. Her 10 goals last week came on just 16 shots for a .625 shooting percentage.

The Guelph, Ontario native leads the nation in draw controls with 5.00 per game and her 40 points are tied for ninth. She also leads the conference in goals per game (3.56) and points per game (4.44) while those numbers rank 16th and 23rd nationally.

Dobbie and the rest of the Terps (8-1) take on Towson on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Ludwig Field.
