COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Future Terrapins Demauria Liles and Lynetta Kizer received national recognitions during the postseason and both were recently in Tampa, Fla., during the NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four to celebrate their respective honors. Liles was named the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Junior College Player of the Year, while Kizer was a WBCA All-American.

A sophomore at Gulf Coast Community College, Liles boasts an impressive list of accolades, which includes the 2008 Florida Community College Activities Association Player of the Year and All-Region 8 nods. A 6-0 forward, she guided Gulf Coast CC to a 32-1 record this season with 11.1 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game, while leading the squad in blocks and steals. She also helped the Lady Commodores to capture the NJCAA National Championship. Liles was presented with the honor in Tampa at the WBCA Coaches Convention Awards Luncheon.

While Crystal Langhorne (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro), who is now a member of the WNBA's Washington Mystics, and current Terp Kristi Toliver (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) were in Tampa for the WBCA All-America press conference, Kizer, who will graduate from Potomac High School in Virginia, was nearby showcasing her talents at the WBCA All-American high school game at the Sun Dome arena at the University of South Florida. Although the White Team lost to the Red Team, 115-94, Kizer started for the White Team and tied for the team lead with 17 points. She was 6-for-10 from the floor. Kizer was also a McDonald's All-American and participated in the all-star game, which was played on March 26 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Both Liles and Kizer signed National Letters of Intent to play at Maryland beginning the 2008-09 campaign.
