The No. 59 Maryland men's tennis team ended its regular season road schedule with a loss to No. 50 Georgia Tech, 6-1.
The Terps (10-8, 2-7) lost the doubles point, and despite forcing three sets in three different singles matches, couldn't spoil Georgia Tech's (13-9, 3-6) senior day.
Maryland's Nickolai Nielsen followed his match clinching performance a day ago with another win at singles. Playing in the No. 5 position, Nielsen lost the first set to Scott Blackmon, but came back to win a marathon of a match, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 10-6.
Playing at No. 2 singles, David Kwon won the first set against Georgia Tech's David North, the No. 78-ranked singles player, but couldn't sustain the momentum, and fell 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Maryland freshman Roshan Potarazu also took the first set in his match at No. 6 singles against Miguel Muguruza, but he too lost in three sets, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-4.
The Terps will be back at the Tennis Center at College Park to finish the regular season next weekend as they play host to No. 9 Florida State Friday at 3 p.m., followed by senior day against No. 27 Miami Sunday at 11 a.m.
