COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 4 Maryland women's lacrosse team will wrap up its regular season with a short trip to Baltimore to take on Loyola (6-9) on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The Terrapins (16-2) own a 26-3 all-time advantage in the series.

Terps Wrap Up Regular Season At Loyola
• No. 4 Maryland will conclude its 2008 regular season when it travels to Baltimore to take on Loyola on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
• Maryland made an emphatic statement on Wednesday night with a 18-9 win at No. 6 Princeton.
• The Terps are now 5-0 under head coach Cathy Reese in games following a loss.
• Loyola enters the game at 6-9 and has not played since April 19, a 19-8 loss to No. 5 Syracuse.

Terps Grab Important Win At Princeton
• Senior leadership proved to be the difference as the No. 4 Maryland women's lacrosse team took down No. 6 Princeton, 18-9, on April 30 at Class of 1952 Stadium. The seniors accounted for 21 of the 23 points Maryland scored in the most lopsided decision in the series since 1984.
• Dana Dobbie led the Terps with five goals and an assist while securing seven draw controls. Her 62 goals this season ranks seventh on the single-season ledger at Maryland while her 111 draw controls is the second most in a season in NCAA history. She is just three away from claiming the top spot from Georgetown's Coco Stanwick who had 113 in 2006.
• Kelly Kasper scored four goals and added two assists while Lauren Cohen recorded a hat trick and also had an assist. Casey Magor chipped in with two goals and an assist while Katie Princiotto had a pair of goals.

Five Terps Named To All-ACC Team
• Seniors Lauren Cohen, Dana Dobbie, Kelly Kasper, and Katie Pumphrey along with sophomore Caitlyn McFadden were all named to the 2008 All-ACC team, announced April 24 at the annual awards banquet.
• The Terrapins are the only team in the conference to have five honorees in each of the past three seasons.
• It was Kasper's third selection to the all-conference team and Dobbie's second. Dobbie was the 2007 ACC Player of the Year last season in her first year in the conference.

First Half Dominance
• The Terps have led at halftime in every game this season.
• Maryland holds a significant advantage in goals (158-58) and shots (318-164) in the first half.
• In the second half, the Terps still hold a smaller advantage in both categories with 22 more goals and 25 more shots.
• Maryland has held a lead of five or more goals at halftime in 12 games this season.
• The average lead for the Terps at the half is 5.6 goals.

Scouting The Greyhounds
• Loyola enters the game with a 6-9 record and has not played since a 19-8 loss to No. 5 Syracuse back on April 19.
• The Greyhounds are 0-5 this season in teams currently ranked in the IWLCA Coaches Poll.
• Grace Gavin leads Loyola with 37 goals, 50 points, and 41 draw controls while chipping in with 13 assists which is second on the team.
• Abby Rehfuss leads the Greyhounds with 15 assists while adding 34 goals of her own which ranks second.
• Meg Steffe has started all 15 games in goal and allows 12.64 goals per game. Her save percentage stands at .444 this year.

Dobbie, Kasper Named Tewaaraton Nominees
• Senior midfielders Dana Dobbie and Kelly Kasper have been named Tewaaraton nominees, announced April 16 by the Tewaaraton Award Foundation. Maryland is one of three teams with multiple players on the list. The Tewaaraton Trophy is handed out annually to the nation's best player in both men's and women's lacrosse.
• Dobbie was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy in 2007. She leads the country this season in draw controls with 111 and averages over six per outing. The Guelph, Ontario product leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in three statistical categories including goals (62), goals per game (3.44), and draw controls.
• Dobbie has won the award three times this season which leads the conference. Two of her honors were shared with other players. With six total honorees, the Terps dominated the Player of the Week count as no other team has garnered more than a pair of wins.
• Kasper, who is already a two-time All-American, leads the conference in points (76) and points per game (4.22).
• Kasper has been named ACC and Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week this season and is a two-time recipient of the Player of the Week award from WomensLax.com.

State of Defense
• The Maryland back line has proven it is a strength this season as just two teams have scored over 10 goals.
• During Maryland's 13-game win streak, opponents were scoring just 7.32 goals per game.
• The Terps allowed just five goals to a Virginia team that was averaging 14.3 goals per game. The Cavaliers' lowest output before the game was 13.
• It was Virginia's lowest goal total since they scored five against James Madison on May 14, 2000 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
• The Terps posted their best defensive effort against Virginia Tech on April 19 in a 20-3 victory. The three goals was the fewest allowed since Maryland gave up three in a 12-3 win against Ohio on February 19, 2006.
• The Terps allowed just four goals in the next game against No. 11 North Carolina in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament.
• The seven goals allowed in the consecutive games was the best two-game defensive stance since 2003.
• The Maryland back line ranks eighth in the nation in scoring defense at 7.96.
• Maryland's opposition has turned the ball over 292 times this season with 159 of them being caused by women in red and black.
• Opponents are also just getting off 20.3 shots a game and have a shooting percentage of .399.
• In the Terps' win at No. 10 Stanford on March 22, senior Katie Pumphrey caused six turnovers while sophomore Karissa Taylor forced four miscues. The pair also combined for nine ground balls as Pumphrey collected six of them.

Every Dobbie Draw Is A New Record
• Senior Dana Dobbie, a finalist for the Tewaaraton last season, is putting up some big numbers this season.
• The Ontario native has been dominant on draw controls as she has secured 111 of them, which is just two off of the NCAA record for draws in a season. Coco Stanwick secured 113 for Georgetown in 2006.
• Dobbie is already the career NCAA leader with 319 draw controls to her name. She passed the Hoyas' Gloria Lozano on March 1 at Duke.
• Lozano had 223 draw controls in 74 games and Dobbie surpassed the mark in just her 48th game. Dobbie has played in 63 games in her career.
• Dobbie is currently averaging 5.06 draws per game for her career which is currently the best all-time in NCAA history.
• Towson's Hillary Fratzke averaged 6.29 draws per game in the 2006 season which is an NCAA record and Dobbie is currently sporting a 6.17 average per outing which ranks third in a single-season.
• She has picked up more draws than Maryland's opposition five times this year - she had nine at Duke on March 1, six against Virginia on March 4, eight versus Dartmouth on March 15, 10 against Ohio State on April 6, and 10 more against Virginia Tech on April 19.
• Dobbie is averaging 6.17 draws per game this season which is tops in the nation.
• On the offensive end, Dobbie leads the team with 62 goals and is second with 74 points. Her 62 goals have come on 110 shots for a .564 shooting percentage which is second on the team.
• Dobbie leads the conference in three different categories including goals (62), goals per game (3.44), and draws per game (6.17).

Terps Second In Nation In Draws
• Maryland has been stellar this season when it comes to draw controls.
• The Terps have won 286 of the 449 draws they have seen - or 64 percent.
• Maryland has won more draws than their opponent in 14 of the 18 games this season.
• In their five ACC games, the Terps outdrew their foes 83-40.
• Virginia had 12 draw controls in the ACC Championship game to Maryland's 11. It was the first time this season that the opposition had secured more draws than the Terps.
• Senior Dana Dobbie has picked up 111 draw controls and leads the nation in that category with 6.17 per game.
• Dobbie and Kelly Kasper have combined for 158 draws as Dobbie leads the team with 111 while Kasper has 47.

Kounting On Kasper
• Senior Kelly Kasper has been a force all over the field for the Terps.
• The Eldersburg, Md., product leads the team with 38 assists and 76 points and is third with 38 goals. She is also second on the squad with 24 caused turnovers and 47 draw controls.
• Kasper leads the conference in assists (2.12) and points per game (4.12).
• Kasper was tabbed the WomensLax.com Player of the Week for the second time this season on April 14 for her five-point performance in Maryland's 10-8 win at No. 9 North Carolina.
• Kasper was named the ACC, Inside Lacrosse, and WomensLax.com Player of the Week on February 25 after recording nine goals and seven assists in Maryland's first two games of the season. She tied the school record with six assists in the Terps' victory at Boston College on February 24.
• Kasper, a captain and member of the Tewaaraton Watch List, opened the season with a career-high six goals at UMass on February 23. She also added an assist, ground ball, draw control, and caused turnover.
• The next day in a 23-10 rout of Boston College, Kasper shared the wealth as she set a new career high with six assists while scoring three goals of her own. The nine points she recorded matched her previous best while the six assists tied the school record. She also racked up four draw controls, two ground balls, and forced a pair of turnovers.

Cohen & Co.
• Senior Lauren Cohen has stepped up on the offensive end for the Terps this season.
• She is currently second on the squad with 44 goals and her 54 points rank third on the team.
• Cohen has recorded a hat trick in five of the last 10 games and has scored two or more goals in 11 of the last 12 outings.
• The Farmingdale, N.Y., native is 7-for-14 on free positions which leads the team and she has been credited with four game-winning goals against Massachusetts, Virginia, Stanford, and North Carolina.
• Her 41 goals have come on 88 shots for a .466 shooting percentage.
• Cohen is averaging 2.56 goals per game which is third in the ACC and her 3.12 points per game are eighth.

Saving Her Best For Last
• Senior Allie Buote has provided the Maryland defense with strong performances in goal throughout the year.
• The Annapolis native sports a 7.65 goals against average and has a .496 save percentage.
• She came up with 10 saves against No. 9 North Carolina on April 12. Three of her stops came on free positions in a 10-8 win.
• Entering the week, Buote ranked second in the conference in goals against average (7.57) and save percentage (.496). Those numbers rank eighth and 15th in the country, respectively.
• She was named ACC Player of the Week twice this season and is the only goalie in the conference to earn the award.
• Buote was also named to the ACC All-Tournament Team with 14 saves in the two games, including eight in the championship game.

Erin Go Bragh
• Sophomore Caitlyn McFadden celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a career game against No. 13 Dartmouth on March 15.
• The Phoenix, Md., native recorded a career-high seven points with three goals and four assists.
• It was the second straight game that McFadden dished out four helpers which is a personal best.
• She is second on the team with 23 assists and her 45 points and 22 draw controls are fourth and third, respectively. Her 22 goals rank fifth.

Protect This House
• Maryland was a perfect 9-0 in College Park in 2007, going 5-0 at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex, 3-0 at Ludwig Field, and 1-0 at Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium.
• The last perfect season Maryland had in College Park was in 2001.
• Maryland extended its home winning streak to 16 games with a 20-3 rout of Virginia Tech on April 19.
• The Terps, now in their second season under the guidance of Cathy Reese, have won all three games in which they have played an opponent ranked No. 1 or No. 2 at home in the past two seasons and have done it in three different locations.
• Maryland has not lost at home since April 5, 2006 against Georgetown - an 11-10 setback.
• The Terps are 156-14 in College Park dating back to 1990 with 10 perfect seasons in that span.
• Records of home and away games are incomplete from 1974-89.

Success Against The Best
• Since head coach Cathy Reese took over for the 2007 season, Maryland is a perfect 9-0 in College Park against teams ranked in the top 20.
• Last year, the Terps were 5-0 against ranked foes at home with wins against No. 2 Duke, No. 13 Johns Hopkins, No. 1 North Carolina, No. 11 Princeton, and No. 12 Yale.
• Maryland pushed that winning streak to nine games with a 14-7 win against No. 9 Georgetown last week.
• The Terps are 18-5 overall against teams that are ranked the past two seasons.

Senior Moments
• The Terps, whose 10 seniors is tied for the most in the country, are getting a lot of production from their leaders this year.
• The senior class has accounted for 285 of the 406 points scored in Maryland's 18 games - or 70 percent.
• In Maryland's 18-9 win at No. 6 Princeton on April 30, the senior class accounted for 21 of the Terps' 23 points in the game.
• The Terps have started seven or more seniors in every game this season.

The Magic Number
• Since Cathy Reese took over in 2007, Maryland is 29-1 in games the Terps score 10 or more goals.
• Maryland went 15-0 last year in those games and is 14-1 this season.
• The Terrapins' first loss when scoring 10 or more goals in the Reese era came on March 1 in a 14-13 loss at Duke.
• The Terps were 1-4 in games that they did not score double-digit goals in 2007 but are 2-1 this season.

Welcome To The Family
• Head coach Cathy Reese gave birth to her third child, Cayden, on March 12 at 3:55 p.m. Her first girl weighed in at nine pounds, four ounces. The Terps celebrated with a 17-9 win against Richmond later that night.
• She had not traveled with the team for their first three games of the season at UMass, Boston College, and Duke due to her pregnancy.
• Reese was back on the sideline for the next game on March 15 in a 17-8 win against Dartmouth but missed the trip to Stanford on March 22.

Terps Fall To Virginia In ACC Championship
• The No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team built an 8-3 lead early in the second half but could not hold on as No. 3 Virginia forced overtime and eventually won, 10-9, on April 27 in the 2008 ACC Championship. Ashley McCulloch scored the game-winning goal for the Cavaliers in overtime.
• Virginia was down 8-3 with 26:26 to play in regulation but scored six unanswered goals to take a 9-8 lead with 4:27 left. Sophomore Caitlyn McFadden scored the game-tying goal with 1:58 to play to force overtime.
• Senior Dana Dobbie scored three goals in the game and added an assist and five draw controls. Classmate Kelly Kasper scored twice and assisted on a pair while senior Lauren Cohen scored two goals. Sophomore Caitlyn McFadden had a goal and an assist and senior Allie Buote was credited with eight saves in goal.
• Buote, Cohen, Dobbie, and Kasper were each named to the All-Tournament Team.

Terps Hold Off North Carolina In ACC Semifinals
• The No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first half and held on for a 6-4 win against No. 11 North Carolina in the semifinals of the 2008 ACC Championship at Scott Stadium.
• Senior Dana Dobbie led the Terps with a pair of goals with classmate Kelly Kasper assisting on both of them. Sophomore Caitlyn McFadden had a goal and an assist while seniors Lauren Cohen, Casey Magor, and sophomore Amanda Spinnenweber scored the other three goals.

Dobbie Earns Final ACC Player of the Week Nod
• Senior midfielder Dana Dobbie has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, announced April 21 by the conference office. The Guelph, Ontario native picked up a hat trick in both games last week and secured 19 draw controls which were more than Maryland's entire opposition in the two games.
• Dobbie has won the award three times this season which leads the conference. Two of her honors were shared with other players. With six total honorees, the Terps dominated the Player of the Week count as no other team has garnered more than a pair of wins.
• Dobbie dominated the field in Maryland's two wins last week. Against No. 9 Georgetown, she scored three goals and added three ground balls and nine draw controls which equaled the entire Hoya team. She then continued her dominance in the circle with 10 more draw controls against the Hokies as the Terps held a 20-5 advantage in draws. She also scored a hat trick against Virginia Tech.
• Dobbie's six goals tied for the team lead in the two games and her 19 draws were more than the Hoyas and Hokies had combined which was 14. Dobbie, who leads the nation in draw controls, has picked up eight or more in five of the last six games and has secured at least 10 three times this year.

Terps Throttle Virginia Tech, 20-3
• Maryland's senior class shined in their regular season home finale, scoring 19 of the Terrapins' 32 points as the No. 3 women's lacrosse team beat Virginia Tech, 20-3, on April 19 at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
• Senior Kelly Kasper led all scorers with a goal and four assists. Kasper now has 89 career assists which ties her with Allison Comito for fifth place all-time. Kasper also has 220 career points which now stands as the 10th most ever at Maryland.
• Senior Katie Princiotto pitched in with three goals and an assist as did sophomore Caitlyn McFadden. Seniors Lauren Cohen and Dana Dobbie both had three points as Dobbie scored a hat trick and Cohen recorded two goals and an assist. Dobbie also paced the Terps with 10 draw controls.
• Maryland dominated Virginia Tech on both ends of the field. The Terps owned a 34-9 shot advantage and a 20-5 difference on draw controls. The Terps' defense held the Hokies scoreless for two long stretches of 23:55 spanning the first and second halves and then did not allow a goal for the final 23:37.
• It was the largest win for Maryland since a 22-4 victory against Temple in the NCAA Tournament back on May 13, 2004. With the win, the Terps extended their win streak to 12 games which is the first time they have had a steak that long since 2001 when they won their last national championship.

Buote, Kasper Earn Weekly Accolades
• Senior goalie Allie Buote was named the ACC Player of the Week while midfielder Kelly Kasper was tabbed the WomensLax.com Player of the Week for their roles in Maryland's 10-8 win at No. 9 North Carolina on April 12. It is the second time this season that the two have earned these respective awards.
• Buote came up huge for the Terps in goal as she was credited with 10 saves. Three of them came on free position shots in the two-goal victory, Maryland's first at North Carolina since 2005. She has stopped 10 or more shots in four of her last five outings. The Tar Heels were averaging 11 goals per game entering the contest.
• The Annapolis, Md., native ranks second in the ACC in goals against average (8.04) and saves (102) and third in save percentage (.505). Her goals against average and save percentage both rank ninth in the country.
• Kasper led all scorers with four goals and an assist against the Tar Heels. Her four goals came on just five shots. It was the most goals she has scored in a game since March 8. The senior captain also had a draw control and a caused turnover on the defensive end.
• The Eldersburg, Md., product ranks second in the conference in points (54), assists (24), and draw controls per game (3.08). Her assists and draw totals also rank 18th in the nation.

Terps Hold Off North Carolina, 10-8
• Senior Kelly Kasper scored four goals and classmate Lauren Cohen had two goals and two assists to lead the No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 10-8 win against No. 9 North Carolina on April 12 at Fetzer Field.
• Senior Allie Buote was stellar in goal for the Terrapins with 10 saves.
• Sophomore Caitlyn McFadden chipped in with a goal and an assist as did freshman Sarah Mollison.

Dobbie Named ACC Co-Player of the Week
• Senior midfielder Dana Dobbie was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on April 8 for her performance in a pair of Maryland victories in the ACC/ALC Challenge. Dobbie recorded a combined eight goals, three assists, 21 draw controls, five ground balls, and four caused turnovers in the two games.
• Dobbie shares the award with North Carolina's Kristen Taylor who led the Tar Heels to a pair of wins in Chapel Hill as well.
• Dobbie helped the Terps extend their winning streak to nine games with her performance. In Maryland's 12-11 triple overtime win on April 4 against Penn State, Dobbie scored a pair of goals and added an assist. She also secured 10 draw controls in the win.
• She then had a monster game against Ohio State as the Terps overpowered the Buckeyes, 21-6, on April 6. Dobbie scored five of her six goals in the first half, added two assists, and picked up a season-high 11 draw controls. She also recorded four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Dobbie's 21 draw controls in the two games were more than the entire opposition had on the weekend which was 18. She led the Terps in goals, points, ground balls, and caused turnovers on that weekend.
• The Guelph, Ontario native leads the nation in draws per game with 6.08. She is also ninth in goals per game (3.75) and 13th in points (56) and caused turnovers per contest (1.83).

Terps Extend Win Streak To Nine Games
• Senior Dana Dobbie filled the stat sheet with six goals, two assists, 11 draw controls, and four ground balls as the No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team overpowered Ohio State, 21-6, on April 4 at Fetzer Field. Classmate Kelly Kasper added three goals and a pair of assists in the win.
• Five of Dobbie's six goals came in the first half and her 11 draw controls were more than the entire Buckeyes team. It was the fourth time she has picked up more draws than the entire opposition and it was her second-straight game with 10 or more draw controls.
• Junior Kate Faas scored three goals and senior Lauren Cohen chipped in with two. Senior Allie Buote was credited with seven saves in goal in 49 minutes of work.
• In the first game of the weekend, Kasper scored the game-winning goal in the third overtime to help the No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team escape Penn State, 12-11, on April 4 at Fetzer Field. It was Kasper's third goal of the day and she also added two assists in the Terrapins' eighth-straight victory.
• Dobbie scored twice to go along with an assist and a season-high 10 draw controls. Sophomore Amanda Spinnenweber recorded a pair of goals and assists while Cohen had a hat trick.
• Buote stopped 11 shots on the day, her third-straight game with 10 or more saves.

Big First Half Propels Terps Past Towson
• Senior Dana Dobbie, the reigning ACC Co-Player of the Week, recorded five goals, eight draw controls, and four caused turnovers to lead the No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 15-10 win against Towson on March 26 at Ludwig Field. Classmate Lauren Cohen added her second-straight hat trick.
• Dobbie notched her hat trick less than seven minutes into the game. Senior Katie Princiotto and sophomore Caitlyn McFadden chipped in with a goal and two assists apiece while senior Kelly Kasper had a goal and an assist.
• Senior Allie Buote was credited with a season-high 14 saves in goal, her second-straight game with 10 or more stops. That number tied her career high.
• For the fourth game in a row, Maryland jumped out to an early lead. The Terps led 5-0 and enjoyed a 12-2 advantage after the first half.

Dobbie Named ACC Co-Player of the Week
• Senior midfielder Dana Dobbie was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on March 25 for her performance in a pair of Maryland victories. Dobbie scored 10 goals, including seven at No. 10 Stanford, which matched her career high. She shares the award with North Carolina's Megan Bosica who led the Tar Heels to an ACC win against Duke.
• Dobbie helped the Terps extend their winning streak to six games with the two victories last week. In a win at No. 15 Johns Hopkins on March 17, she scored a hat trick and added three draw controls in a 16-8 victory.
• She then tied her career high with seven goals in a 15-7 win at No. 10 Stanford on March 22. She also added an assist, a team-high five draw controls, two groundballs and a caused turnover. Dobbie led the game-clinching run in the second half with three goals in a five-goal run for the Terps. Her 10 goals last week came on just 16 shots for a .625 shooting percentage.
• The Guelph, Ontario native leads the nation in draw controls with 5.00 per game and her 40 points are tied for ninth. She also leads the conference in goals per game (3.56) and points per game (4.44) while those numbers rank 16th and 23rd nationally.

Dobbie Scores Seven In Terps' Win At Stanford
• Senior Dana Dobbie scored seven goals, had one assist, and secured five draw controls to pace the No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 15-7 win at No. 10 Stanford on March 22. It is the second time in her career she has scored seven goals in a Terrapins uniform.
• Dobbie matched her personal best which came at Dartmouth on March 16, 2007 in a 15-7 victory.
• Seniors Lauren Cohen and Casey Magor both had hat tricks for the Terps while classmate Kelly Kasper dished out two assists while recording five draw controls and three caused turnovers. Kasper now has 75 career assists which is one away from entering the top 10 all-time.
• Maryland's defense allowed less than 10 goals for the fourth-straight game and forced 18 Cardinal turnovers. Senior Katie Pumphrey caused six turnovers while sophomore Karissa Taylor forced four. Senior Allie Buote made 10 saves in goal.
• The win ended Stanford's three-game win streak which included a pair of wins over top-10 teams in Penn and Notre Dame.

Princiotto Leads Terps Over Johns Hopkins
• Senior Katie Princiotto recorded a career-high five goals to lead the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team to a 16-8 win against No. 15 Johns Hopkins on March 17 at Homewood Field. Classmate Kelly Kasper added a goal and four assists to go along with four draw controls.
• Senior Dana Dobbie chipped in with a hat trick while sophomore Ali Perkins tied her career high with three assists that all came in the first half. Senior Allie Buote was credited with seven saves in the win.

Terps Overwhelm Dartmouth, 17-8
• With head coach Cathy Reese back on the sideline after delivering her third child March 12, the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team overwhelmed No. 17 Dartmouth, 17-8, on March 15 at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. Sophomore Caitlyn McFadden recorded a career-high seven points in the win.
• McFadden also picked up four ground balls and two draw controls for the Terrapins. Senior Dana Dobbie had a goal and two assists while dominating the draws with eight of the team's 21. Dartmouth secured just six in the game.
• Seniors Katie Princiotto and Casey Magor each had two goals and an assist while senior Lauren Cohen, sophomore Amanda Spinnenweber, and freshman Laura Merrifield all had a pair of goals.

Terps Handle James Madison, 16-10
• Senior Kelly Kasper led all of Maryland's 10 point scorers with four goals and an assist as the No. 4 Maryland women's lacrosse team defeated No. 16 James Madison, 16-10, on March 8 at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
• Senior Dana Dobbie recorded three goals and an assist while classmate Katie Princiotto had a goal and three assists. Senior Casey Magor notched a hat trick and sophomore Caitlyn McFadden contributed a goal and a pair of helpers.

Buote Tabbed ACC Player of the Week
• Senior goalie Allie Buote was named the ACC Player of the Week on March 10 after recording 17 saves in a pair of Maryland wins. The Annapolis native stopped a season-high 10 shots in an 8-5 win against No. 2 Virginia and then recorded seven saves against No. 16 James Madison in a 16-10 victory.
• Buote led the Maryland defense to an overwhelming performance against the Cavalier offense on March 4, allowing just five goals to a team that went into the game averaging 14.33 per game. It was Virginia's lowest scoring output in almost eight years dating back to 2000.
• Buote then went on to make seven saves, five in the second half, in 52 minutes against James Madison.

Terps Beat Virginia For First Time Since 2003
• Senior Allie Buote was credited with 10 saves and classmate Dana Dobbie recorded three goals, an assist, and six draw controls as the No. 5 Maryland women's lacrosse team beat No. 2 Virginia, 8-5, on March 4 at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
• The Terps, now in their second season under the guidance of Cathy Reese, have won all three games in which they have played an opponent ranked No. 1 or No. 2 at home in the past two seasons and have done it in three different locations.
• Last season, Maryland defeated No. 2 Duke, 19-18, on March 3 at Ludwig Field and then knocked off No. 1 North Carolina three weeks later at Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium, 8-6.
• Dobbie snatched up six of the Terps' 11 draw controls on the night while Virginia had just four. Senior Lauren Cohen recorded two goals and an assist while classmate Katie Pumphrey notched four ground balls and three caused turnovers on defense.

No. 3 Duke Escapes Terps
• No. 3 Duke scored three unanswered goals in the final 12:04 and Jess Adams scored the game-winner with three seconds left to beat the No. 5 Maryland women's lacrosse team, 14-13, on March 1 at Koskinen Stadium. The last two games in the series have both been decided by a single goal.
• Senior Lauren Cohen paced the Terps with four goals and an assist while classmate Kelly Kasper scored three goals.
• Senior Dana Dobbie had two goals and an assist while senior Casey Magor and sophomore Caitlyn McFadden chipped in with a goal and a pair of assists. Dobbie added nine draw controls and three caused turnovers.
• Maryland held a significant 22-7 advantage in draws but turned the ball over 16 times compared to Duke's nine.
• As Maryland was working the offense and trying to kill off some of the clock with a one-goal lead, it turned the ball over and Duke took possession. The Blue Devils made the most of the mistake and scored the game-tying goal with 1:29 left in the game.
• Dobbie won the ensuing draw to give the Terps possession in the last minute, but the Duke defense forced another turnover and gained possession of the ball.
• Maryland was whistled for a foul with 13 seconds left and Duke was awarded a free position, but Sarah Bullard's shot was blocked.
• Adam gained possession of the ball and scored with just three seconds remaining, her only point of the game, to give Duke the come-from-behind victory.

Terps Go 2-0 In Massachusetts
• Maryland opened the season with a pair of wins against UMass and Boston College last weekend.
• The Terps beat the Minutewomen, 18-7, on February 23 at McGuirk Stadium. The game was pushed back a day due to snow.
• Senior Kelly Kasper scored a career high six goals in the Terrapins' season opener.
• Sophomore Caitlyn McFadden also recorded career highs in goals and points with four and five, respectively.
• On the next day, Kasper shared the wealth and established a new career high with six assists and tied her personal best with nine points.
• Senior Lauren Cohen chipped in with five goals and an assist while classmate Dana Dobbie also had five goals to go along with five draw controls.
• McFadden had two goals and an assist while senior Allie Buote was credited with seven saves in the cage, including six in the first half.

Dobbie, Kasper Recognized By Inside Lacrosse
• Seniors Dana Dobbie and Kelly Kasper were recognized as two of the top 20 players in the country by Inside Lacrosse. The publication listed Dobbie as the No. 3 player in the country while Kasper came in at No. 7.
• The Terrapins were the only team in the ACC with two players named on the list.
• Maryland was just one of two teams with two players listed in the top 10. Northwestern had three recognized and four overall. Penn and Notre Dame were the only other programs with multiple players on the list, both with a pair ranked in the top 20.
• Dobbie racked up numerous awards last season as she was the 2007 ACC Player of the Year, a first team All-American, and a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy. She led the team with 39 ground balls and 79 draw controls and her 3.95 draws per game ranked fourth in the country. Dobbie was also second on the squad with 53 goals and 69 points while forcing 24 turnovers on the defensive end, a number that ranked third on the team.
• Kasper, a two-time All-American and All-ACC selection, posted 26 goals and 22 assists last year. Her assists ranked second on the team while her 31 caused turnovers were the most for the Terps. Kasper, a dominant presence on both ends of the field, also recorded 28 draw controls and 24 ground balls.
• The two seniors were named tri-captains for the 2008 season along with fellow classmate Katie Pumphrey.
• The pair was also named first-team preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse.

Three Terps Named To US Touring Team
• Three Maryland women's lacrosse players were named to the United States touring team that will represent the country in the upcoming Prague Cup in the Czech Republic in June. Former Terrapins Quinn Carney and Acacia Walker were named to the roster while sophomore Caitlyn McFadden will serve as an alternate.
• Maryland is one of three schools in the nation to have three student-athletes named to the 24-woman list. Northwestern has three women on the 18-woman roster while North Carolina has two on the roster and one alternate. A total of seven programs had two women represented on the team.
• McFadden is the youngest player to be named to the 24-woman list, representing the class of 2010. As one of the top freshman in the country last season, she scored 18 goals and added 17 assists for one of the most potent offenses in the nation. She finished third on the Terps squad with 29 draw controls, fourth with 21 caused turnovers, and fifth with 27 groundballs. McFadden was named to the WomensLacrosse.com All-Rookie Team and was a member of the All-ACC Academic Team.
• Carney and Walker are two of the best ever to go through the Maryland program. Carney, a 2001 graduate, was a two-time All-American and All-ACC honoree. She won four national championships while in the red and black and was named to the all-time ACC team. Carney ranks third all-time at Maryland with 110 assists, fourth with 272 points, and fifth with 162 goals.
• Walker, a 2005 graduate, was also a two-time All-American and All-ACC selection. She racked up 108 goals, 77 assists, and 185 points in her collegiate career. Her assist number is tied for eighth all-time at Maryland.

Reese Makes ACC History In 2007
• Head coach Cathy Reese, in her first season at the helm of the Terps program, was named the 2007 ACC Coach of the Year. It was the first time in conference history that a mentor earned the award in their first season as head coach.
• Reese and associate head coach Jen Adams revitalized the Terrapins last season, whose 16 wins were the most since 2003 and who advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time since 2004.
• The Terps started the year 13-1 with wins over No. 1 North Carolina and No. 2 Duke at home.
• The Maryland offense ranked eighth in the nation last year with 14.25 goals per game.
• Maryland was perfect at home for the first time since 2001 with a record of 9-0.
