Important Information on Changes in Football Gameday Parking
In our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible fan experience at the University of Maryland, Maryland Athletics will be implementing several significant changes that will improve traffic and parking for this upcoming football season.
The specific changes are as follows:
• Starting this season, permits will be required for all vehicles parking on campus;
• All permits will be color-coded and will feature detailed maps to assist fans in finding the appropriate lots, easing congestion throughout campus;
• The parking rate for all cash lots (Mowatt Lane Garage, Lot U5, Lot XX, Lot T, Paint Branch pay lot, Lot 11b, Lot 4i, Lot 4j, Lot 4b, Lot P, Lot K4, Terrapin Trail Garage, Regents Drive Garage) will increase to $15;
• All cash lots will feature directed parking, with attendants to enforce the 1 space-1 vehicle rule;
• Visiting team fans will be directed to park in designated areas to limit interaction with Maryland tailgaters.
With these changes, Maryland Athletics strongly encourages all season ticket holders to join the Terrapin Club at the (minimum) Silver level and purchase a season-long parking permit. The benefits of season-long parking permits include:
• Terrapin Club members may purchase season-long parking permits at the rate of $10 per game, a 33 percent savings for the season;
• Season-long parking permits provide access to the best possible lots (lot access based on annual giving level; location within the lot based on Terpoint priority);
• Season-long parking permits enable self-parking to provide members the opportunity to tailgate near friends and family;
• Terrapin Club members can purchase 1 permit for every 4 season tickets;
• Additional benefits of Silver level membership includes: 12 issues of Terrapin Times annually, opportunity to purchase Men's Basketball season tickets, opportunity to purchase Football season tickets in preferred Terrapin Club sections, and priority tickets for Football bowl games.
All season ticket holders who do not purchase a season-long permit will be automatically mailed a permit to park in a specific zoned area (and required to pay the $15 per game fee at the lot entrance). Fans may request a specific zone and specify the number of Cash permits they require, but specific assignments are not guaranteed.
Anyone without a permit - including single-game ticket holders - will be directed to available cash lots, primarily Mowatt Lane Garage. As parking is limited, some fans may have to park at the College Park Metro Station or other off-campus parking lots.
