• With the victory over North Carolina, Maryland snapped it's three-game losing streak to the Tar Heels. Maryland's last win against North Carolina came in the 2006 Final Four.
• It was Maryland's 19th all-time victory against a top-five team and the fourth time it has beaten a top-five Tar Heels team. The Terps last win against a top-five team came last season against No. 4 LSU.
• Senior Marissa Coleman finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. With the 10 rebounds, Coleman moved into second place in school history in rebounding, passing Vicky Bullett. Coleman now has 977 career rebounds.
• It was Coleman's fourth double-double of the season and 32nd of her career. Coleman is the ACC's active leader in career double-doubles.
• Coleman played in her 121st consecutive game, the third-highest total in program history. She is now two shy of Christy Winters for second place.
• Senior Kristi Toliver made four 3-pointers to move into sixth place in ACC history.
• Toliver finished with a game-high 23 points and dished out a game-high eight assists.
• Junior Demauria Liles grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds and added 12 points. It was Liles' sixth double-double of the season and second straight.
• Overall, it was Maryland's third win against a ranked team this season, having also beaten Purdue and Wake Forest.
• After falling behind 2-0, the Terps embarked on a 14-0 run.
• The Terps won their 29th consecutive home game and eighth straight this season. North Carolina is the highest-ranked opponent the Terps have beaten in the home winning streak.
• North Carolina wore pink uniforms in honor of former NC State head coach Kay Yow. It was the first time North Carolina has ever worn pink jerseys.
• The Terrapins are now 30-35 all-time against the Heels.
• The attendance of 12,671 is the 10th-highest in Atlantic Coast Conference history. Nine of the top-10 attendances in conference history have been games in which Maryland has participated.
