WEYMOUTH, Mass. - The Maryland men's tennis team secured its first Atlantic Coast Conference win of the year Saturday evening with a convincing 6-1 victory over Boston College.

The Terps (7-5, 1-2) won five of the six singles matches, clinching the team victory with Andrew Orban's 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Akash Muppidi at the No. 2 position.

Maryland also captured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches, though the nationally-ranked duo of Orban and Boris Fetbroyt was upended by the BC tandem of Thomas Nolan and Erik Kreutzer.

Orban and Fetbroyt, ranked No. 36 nationally, were defeated 8-6 by the 46th-ranked duo of Nolan and Kreutzer. Orban and Fetbroyt are now 12-5 on the season.

Mathias Sarrazin and Alex Aksanov clinched the doubles point with an 8-6 win over the Eagles' Akash Muppidi and Adam Davison at the No. 3 position.

The Terps are back in action Friday when they play host to Wake Forest. The match begins at 3 p.m. at the Tennis Center at College Park.
