RALEIGH, N.C. - The University of Maryland women's basketball team will make its third Sweet 16 appearance in four years on Saturday when it faces familiar postseason foe Vanderbilt at RBC Center in the semifinals of the Raleigh Regional.

The Terrapins and Commodores will tip-off at approximately 2:30 p.m. ET (or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Louisville-Baylor game) with live coverage on ESPN and online at ESPN360.com.

Top-seeded Maryland (30-4) and the No. 4 seed Vanderbilt (26-8) are the lone teams from their respective conferences, Atlantic Coast and Southeastern, remaining at this point of the NCAA Tournament. The Terrapins and Commodores met in last year's Sweet 16 in their only meeting in history, with Maryland advancing to the Elite Eight following an 80-66 victory in Spokane, Wash.

Terp senior Marissa Coleman, an All-ACC First Team selection, scored 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting in last year's Sweet 16 tilt versus Vanderbilt, while fellow senior Kristi Toliver dished out eight assists with eight points. Maryland shooting guard Marah Strickland, a sophomore, netted 13 points against the Commodores last season with a 3-for-5 mark from 3-point range.

The Terrapins enter the Sweet 16 on a 14-game win streak, with their last loss coming nearly two months ago. Toliver is leading the team in NCAA Tournament scoring through two games with 22 points per game while Coleman is averaging a double-double at 13.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per contest. Junior forward Demauria Liles is scoring 9.5 points per game with 11.0 rebounds per NCAA outing.

Head coach Brenda Frese, in her seventh season at Maryland, is 14-4 in six NCAA appearances with the Terps. Maryland is 2-0 in Sweet 16 games under Frese and 6-1 all-time in Sweet 16 games. As a No. 1 seed, Maryland is 8-2 all-time.

Saturday's game will mark the first time Maryland will play an NCAA Tournament game in the state of North Carolina. The Terps advanced to the regional semifinals thanks to their decisive victories in the first two rounds over Dartmouth and Utah.

Toliver went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the second-round win over the Utes to give her a career free-throw percentage in NCAA play of 93.9 percent (31-for-33). That clip stands as the second-best percentage from the free-throw line in NCAA Tournament history.

Through just two NCAA Tournament games, Coleman has grabbed 31 rebounds - thanks in part to her career-high 18 boards versus Utah.

The Raleigh Region is the lone region of the 2009 NCAA Tournament in which all top-four seeds advanced to the Sweet 16. The winner of the Terps-Commodores game will advance to the Elite Eight to face the winner of the No. 2 Baylor-No. 3 Louisville game in the Regional Final on Monday at 7 p.m.
