GREENSBORO, N.C. - Freshman attacker Karri Ellen Johnson has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 29.

Johnson helped pace the second-ranked Terps to three wins last week, including two over ranked opponents, No. 18 James Madison and No. 14 Stanford.

The freshman from Annapolis, Md., tied a career-high with five goals against Towson on Tuesday, before eclipsing that mark with six goals at James Madison on Friday.

The attacker also established career-bests with two assists and eight points against the Dukes.

Against No. 14 Stanford on Sunday, the rookie, who registered the game-winner, tallied two goals, one assist, four ground balls and seven draw controls as the Terps tied its best start since 2003.

Maryland returns to action at the ACC/ALC Challenge at The Ohio State University next weekend. The Terps play No. 18 Penn State at 5 p.m. on Friday.
