The Maryland competitive cheer team will head to Daytona Beach, Fla. later this week to defend it's three consecutive NCA national titles. The Terps will be competing in the All Girl I division and are scheduled to compete Thursday in the first round at 1:37 p.m.
The Terps will compete against college teams from N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Louisville, South Carolina, Massachusetts-Amherst, Penn State, Ohio State, Georgia, New Hampshire, Kennesaw State, Florida, Quinnipiac, Providence, Illinois and Michigan State.
In preparation for this week's competition, the Terps performed their routine in front of 200 people this weekend. The event took place at the Comcast Center Auxiliary Gym and both spirit squads performed as well.
Head coach Jarnell Bonds said the Terps hit a near-flawless routine and will be working on tumbling timing this week before leaving for Florida.
