RALEIGH, N.C. - The Terrapins fell in their first conference game of the season to N.C. State in Reynolds Coliseum, 73-45, Thursday evening.

Dismal shooting and turnovers plagued Maryland throughout the game. The Terps were only able to shoot 8-for-25 in the first 20 minutes and 10-for-28 in the second half.

After North Carolina State shot 50.0 percent in the first half, Maryland was able to hold them to only 9-of-26 shooting in the second.

N.C. State's scrappy defensive style caused the Pack to commit 10 fouls in the first 20 minutes but the Terrapins were only able to take five points away from their trips to the line. The Wolfpack also snatched seven steals during that time, scoring 15 points off the fast break.

Leading the Terrapin squad were senior Lori Bjork and freshman Diandra Tchatchouang with 10 points each. It was the 14th time two or more Terrapins have scored in double-figures this season. Tchatchouang has gone 10 straight games posting double-figures.

Maryland remains on the road for ESPN's Big Monday game against Virginia. The Jan. 11 duel is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN2 and broadcasted live by Terrapin Sports Radio Network.

The Terps return home Thursday, Jan. 14 to host Boston College. Single-game and season ticket packages are available for purchase online at umterps.com or by calling the Terrapin Ticket Office at 1-800-IM-A-TERP.
