COLLEGE PARK, MD. - Postgame notes following Maryland's 30-16 loss to Florida State.

Quick Hits: Maryland dropped its first home game of the season and falls to 7-4 overall, 4-3 in the ACC ... Maryland failed to win the turnover battle for just the third time this season ... Maryland's 163-yard rushing performance is the fourth highest total allowed by Florida State this season.

O'Brien Moves up on Two Lists: Danny O'Brien had 269 passing yards and is now in 13th place on the ACC single-season freshman passing yardage list (1,840). He also had his 17th TD pass of the season, moving him into the top 5 on Maryland's single-season passing TD list. Scott Milanovich has the school record with 26 in 1993.

Behind the Line: Maryland had nine tackles for loss (minus-23 yards) against the Seminoles, setting a season high. The Terps' previous season high for TFLs in a game was eight, achieved against Duke (10/2).

First TD: Will Yeatman made his first career touchdown reception on a 7-yard pass from Danny O'Brien early in the second quarter. The senior also set career highs in receptions (5) and yards (47).

Another INT for the Defense: Kenny Tate intercepted Christian Ponder in the second quarter and returned it 20 yards to the Florida State 38 yard-line. It was the third interception this season for Tate and the 16th for the Maryland defense, the most since it had 18 in 2002. Maryland has also recorded 23 picks over the last 16 games.

Forcing Uncommon Fumbles: When Cameron Chism forced Florida State running back Chris Thompson to fumble in the third quarter and then recovered it, it was the first fumble lost by a Seminoles running back since Nov. 7, 2009. Earlier in the season, Maryland forced and recovered a fumble by BC running back Milton Harris, just the fourth fumble in the first 687 touches of his career.

Points Off Turnovers: Maryland scored six points off two FSU turnovers, while the Seminoles had 13 off four Maryland turnovers. Maryland had given up just seven points on turnovers entering the game, while gaining 80.

Red-Zone Success: Maryland entered tonight's game tied for 21st in the nation, scoring on 88 percent of its trips to the red-zone. The Terps were 4 for 5 in the red zone against the Seminoles.

4th-down Conversions: Maryland, which entered the game tied for 10th in the nation in fourth-down conversion percentage (10 of 14; 71.4%), converted two crucial fourth downs. Late in the first quarter on a fouth-and-1 from the FSU 7 yard-line, D.J. Adams took a direct snap and gained two yards. Three plays later Danny O'Brien hit Will Yeatman for a game-tying TD. With under two minutes in the game on another fourth-and-1, O'Brien ran two yards for the first down. The Terps finished the game 2 of 4 on fourth downs.

Great Scott: Da'Rel Scott had a productive game for the Terrapins, rushing 10 times for 87 yards and catching a pass for nine yards. It was the most rushing yards for the senior since he had 103 against FIU on 9/25/10.

Ground Attack: As a team Maryland rushed for 163 yards, the third time in the last four games the Terps have rushed for at least 100 yards. The exception is the Miami game (11/6), when they had just 96.

Three Straight 100-plus: Alex Wujciak had 10 tackles against FSU, giving him 105 on the season. The senior has at least 100 tackles in three straight seasons and is just the sixth player in school history to accomplish that feat (also D'Qwell Jackson, E.J. Henderson, Eric Barton, Ratcliff Thomas and Chuck Faucette).

Movement on the line: The Terps had to adjust on the fly after two injuries to the offensive line. Right guard Justin Lewis had a knee injury, and Pete White replaced him. Center Bennett Fulper had a hand injury, forcing right tackle Paul Pinegar to move to center, left tackle R.J. Dill to move to right tackle, and true freshman Max Garcia to enter the game at left tackle for his first action this season. Fulper returned to the game, but Lewis did not.

Field Goal Frenzy: Travis Baltz connected on three field goals (31, 32, 32) of 30 yards or more against Florida State. The last time Maryland had a kicker hit three FGs of 30-plus was in 2008 when Obi Egekeze hit from 40, 39, 35 and 26 against Wake Forest.

Smith Moves Up: Torrey Smith had seven catches for 69 yards and 78 kickoff return yards, giving him 147 all-purpose yards on the game. He is now fourth in school history in receptions (136). He also needs just 50 yards to break the schools' career all-purpose yards mark (4,960), set by LaMont Jordan.

Tidbits: Travis Baltz had a career-high three field goals ... Chris Thompson's 70-yard TD run was the longest by a Maryland opponent this season and just the third one of over 50 yards.
