Team Records and Series Notes
• Maryland falls to 16-7 overall and 3-5 in the ACC, while Georgia Tech improves to 19-5 and 5-3 in the ACC. The Terps still own the all-time series, 42-17.
• Head coach Brenda Frese is closing in on her 200th win at Maryland. After Thursday's game, she currently stands at 192-67 (.741).
• Maryland will continue its ACC play Friday night when it hosts RV/24 Virginia Monday night at 7 p.m. The Terps beat the Cavaliers in Charlottesville 61-60 on Jan. 11. Monday’s game will be shown on Raycom.
Team Game Notes
• Line-up: Dara Taylor, Yemi Oyefuwa, Kim Rodgers, Lori Bjork, Diandra Tchatchouang. This lineup is new for the Terps.
• Key run: After trailing the entire game, sophomore center Lynetta Kizer made a layup with 14:57 remaining in the second half to cut the Yellow Jackets’ lead to 15 at 48-33. Over the next nine and a half minutes, the Terps went on a 21-4 tear before finally knotting the game at 52 apiece with sophomore guard Kim Rodgers’ three made at 5:32.
• Three Terps finished in double figures in Sunday’s game. Anjale Barrett, Kim Rodgers and Lori Bjork all finished with double-digit points. The Terrapins are 5-3 when three or more players finish in double-digit points.
• Maryland outrebounded Georgia Tech, 34-25. The Terps are 16-4 when they hold the rebounding advantage.
Individual Game Notes
• Sophomore center Yemi Oyefuwa earned her fourth career start on Friday. The Terps are now 3-1 in games she starts. She had a day full of career highs in minutes (20), points (6), rebounds (8), and steals (2).
• Senior Lori Bjork, the ACC's three-point leader, had 11 points on the day with 3-for-5 shooting from the field, all from outside the arc. She has now hit multiple three’s and scored in double digits in 11 of the Terps’ last 12 games.
• Sophomore guard Anjale Barrett was the Terps’ leading scorer with 14 points on the day. She was 6-for-12 from the field and 1-for-2 from both the three point line and the foul line. She dished seven assists and grabbed three rebounds. yt
