The Maryland men's tennis team entered the Campbell's/ITA College Tennis Rankings on Tuesday, cracking the poll at No. 73.
The Terps (12-2, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) are ranked for the first time since coming in at No. 75 in the poll released on March 24, 2009.
Maryland is coming off a perfect 3-0 week, claiming shutout victories over Navy, Delaware State and St. Mary's College of Maryland.
The team is off to one of its best starts in program history, and is currently in the middle of an eight-match winning streak.
Maryland has also made an impact on the individual rankings, with freshman Tommy Laine coming in at No. 122 in the national singles rankings. Laine has started the 2010 dual season with a perfect 14-0 record.
The Terps will look to continue their hot start when they play host to Delaware Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Tennis Center at College Park.
