Head Coach Brenda Frese

Opening Statement:
"[It's] a special win any time you play Duke and you come out and play the way this team did. I thought we showed a lot of heart and character by responding. Obviously we were disappointed from our last two games. We played a really dominating 40 minutes. We kept our poise and our composure. That's the fun thing with this team is that when we stick together and we understand, good things are in store for us. Again, it's always a special win when we can beat Duke."

On Maryland's defense:
"I thought defensively, we were able to mix it up a lot between our man and zone and box-in-one some possessions. Credit our team, we got in our stance and defended. I thought Dara Taylor was tremendous down the stretch. I thought she had a great game for us. And just as a whole, we did a tremendous job defending and rebounding the basketball."

On Maryland's focus:
"For us, we've learned a lot over the course of these ACC games in just staying calm and keeping our poise and I think that was maybe the biggest difference."

On Dara Taylor's play:
"I thought she was tremendous on Jasmine [Thomas]. I thought [Taylor] really made [Thomas'] shots extremely difficult and we've said it all year long with our depth, you constantly have to be working behind the scenes and you never know when your number's going to be called and Dara's number was called tonight. I'm proud of Dara. She has been working hard and for her to be able to have that kind of success for us was huge."

Junior Center Lynetta Kizer

On Maryland's performance tongiht:
"I don't think we came in thinking it was a statement game. I think we came in coming off of two losses and we were ready to play. We had two great practices leading into this game and we really wanted to focus on defensive rebounding and let everything else come and that's what we did tonight for pretty much 40 minutes and it was a good win."

On the win:
"It means a lot. Pretty much, it's definitely a rivalry game for us. Any time we can beat Duke, that's always good too. One thing we wanted to focus on was protecting our home court and I think we did a phenomenal job of that today all around."

Duke Head Coach Joanne McCallie

Opening Statement:
"This just was not a great game for us and [it was] a terrific game for Maryland. We turned the ball over 20 times and we were outrebounded and that pretty much explains it."

On winning just three of Duke's last six games:
"It's a one-game-at-a-time thing. We played a great schedule. We come up against a lot of tough teams so we just take it one game at a time."

On Duke's turnovers:
"We had too many turnovers. We just have to remember to take care of the basketball. We helped lead their fast breaks because of our turnovers and that really hurt us. We rushed and went too quickly and we didn't spend enough time setting up our plays. We didn't get rebounds, which means we didn't get second shots. That was a big part of this game. All of the turnovers fall on me, though. It's all on the coach."

Senior Guard Jasmine Thomas

On Duke's turnovers:
"Being careless with the ball was a big problem and I take a lot of responsibility for the turnovers we had. I led the team with eight and I'm a senior point guard and that is just not acceptable. Your team feeds off of what you're doing and if I'm careless with the ball I think that trickles down. Besides turnovers, we were beat to loose balls and outrebounded, all of that compounds to the outcome of the game."
