Team Records and Series Notes
• The Terps improve to 20-3 (6-2) while the Wolfpack falls to 10-12 (1-7) on the season.
• Maryland is now 34-41 against NC State. The Terps have won six of their last seven against the Wolfpack.
• With Sunday’s win, Coach Brenda Frese and the Terrapins have reached the 20-win mark in seven consecutive seasons.
• Maryland will look for its seventh win in the ACC on Thursday, Feb. 10 at Miami at 7 p.m. ET.
Team Game Notes
• Lineup: Alyssa Thomas, Tianna Hawkins, Diandra Tchatchouang, Anjale Barrett and Lynetta Kizer. This group is now 12-2 on the year.
• Three Terps broke the 10-point mark Sunday: Lynetta Kizer (22), Kim Rodgers (14) and Diandra Tchatchouang (11).
• Mounting a comeback: Down 33-21 with 6:56 remaining in the first half, Maryland went on an 11-0 run to cut the Wolfpack lead to one at the 3:14 mark. The Terps would eventually reclaim the lead, 40-39 with 18:29 to go in the second via a Diandra Tchatchouang jumper.
• Running away with it: Leading 55-50 with 12:22 left in the second half, the Terps put the game away thanks to a 21-0 run.
• Second-half surge: In the second half, Maryland controlled NC State by dominating the Wolfpack in a number of statistical categories including points scored (52-20), rebounds (28-10) and assists (11-4). Maryland also outscored NC State 30-0 in the paint.
• In scoring 88 points Sunday, Maryland tied its season-best mark. The Terps defeated then-No. 11 North Carolina, 88-65 on Jan. 23.
• In their last four home games, the Terrapins have defeated foes, three of which ACC teams, by an average of over 32 points.
• Maryland nearly doubled up NC State in rebounding; the Terps recorded 51 boards to the Wolfpack’s 28.
Individual Game Notes
• Junior Lynetta Kizer led the Terps and recorded her 25th career double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, both game-highs.
• Following her game-winning 3-pointer against Georgia Tech, junior Kim Rodgers scored 14 points, including three made field-goals from beyond the arc.
• Sophomore Diandra Tchatchouang broke double-digits in points scored for the 12th time this season. The La Courneuve, France native also brought down seven rebounds and dished out a game-high seven assists.
• Sophomore Tianna Hawkins recorded eight points, putting her at 502 for her career. The 6-3 forward from Clinton, Md., also recorded eight rebounds and has started 12 of the last 13 games for the Terps.
