Meet Scores 

HAMDEN, Conn. -
The top-ranked Maryland competitive cheer team won at No. 5 Quinnipiac 285.980 to 279.786 Saturday in its final regular season meet this season. The Terps finished the inaugural National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association season with a perfect 8-0 record and the top ranking throughout the year.
In the fifth of sixth events, tumbling, the Terrapins earned their highest score of any team this season. Danielle Jenkins and Season Daugherty each beat their personal best scores and the nation's top scores. Jenkins earned a score of 9.95, while Daugherty earned a 9.9.
"We had an amazing showing in the tumbling round today," head coach Jarnell Bonds said. "I was proud of every heat. I was happy to see Danielle and Season earn their high scores. The girls were determined overall to get a high meet total to get a high seed going into nationals."
Maryland fell behind in the first three rounds, compulsories, stunts and the pyramid.
"We received a deduction in the pyramid round," Bonds said. "The team was not fazed by it and I applaud them for the ability to keep their focus going into halftime."
The Terps' score at half of 95.12 trailed the Bobcats' 96.90. The came out of the break with a strong basket toss round to start a comeback. The Terps' final basket toss heat of Lauren Shannon, Samantha Johnson, Samantha Ford and Kaitlyn Letourneau, earned a score of 9.85.
"Their strong skills started our comeback. They really energized us going into the tumbling round. Their score was really well-deserved," Bonds said.
In the final event, the team routine, the Terrapins earned an overall score of 105.62.
This is the first season NCATA teams competed in strictly NCATA meets. Maryland was the only team to go undefeated.
"I am extremely proud of my teammates for finishing up the regular season undefeated," senior Megan Salvatore said. "We all worked so hard this year at everything we did. I couldn't have asked for anything better."
