COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland men's tennnis team will close out the regular season at home this weekend with a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference matches.
The 48th-ranked Terrapins (10-10, 2-7) will play host to No. 56 NC State at 2:30 p.m. Friday and No. 24 Wake Forest at noon Sunday.
Both of those matches are scheduled to be played on campus at the Cole Tennis Courts.
Maros Horny and Jan Surovic entered the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings on Tuesday. The duo is tied for 85th in the nation. Horny is also No. 109 in the singles rankings.
The Wolfpack (9-12, 1-8) knocked off then 38th-ranked Virginia Tech by a score of 5-2 Sunday in Raleigh, N.C.
Maryland's meeting with the Demon Deacons will serve as the final home match for Graham Knowlton, the only senior on the squad. Knowlton, a transfer from Bradley, is in his fourth season with the Terps.
Wake Forest (10-10, 3-6) has two ranked singles players (Jonathan Wolff at No. 85 and Iain Atkinson at No. 105). Atkinson and David Hopkins are also No. 50 nationally in doubles.
Seeding will be on the line this weekend as just one match separates the Terps and Demon Deacons in the league standings.
Wake Forest will mark the 11th-straight ranked foe for the Terps.
The ACC Championships are scheduled for April 21-24 in Cary, N.C.
