The Maryland men's tennis team takes to the road this weekend, facing No. 24 Miami and 41st-ranked Florida State.
The Terps (10-8, 2-5), who bumped up one spot to No. 43 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, play the Hurricanes (12-5, 6-1) at 3 p.m. Friday.
Maryland is looking to improve its NCAA Tournament resume and make a jump in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings.
Miami is tied for the second in the league with 18th-ranked Georgia Tech, which knocked off the Terps by a score of 5-2 Sunday.
The Terps and Seminoles (7-11, 2-5) are in a tie for eighth place, but just a game out of sixth.
Maryland is led by Maros Horny, the 86th-ranked singles player in the nation. The Terps also have a nationally-ranked doubles duo (No. 71) in John Collins and Tommy Laine.
Jesse Kiuru has been hot of late, winning his last four singles matches. Kiuru has a 12-4 mark in dual singles this season. Laine has a team-high 13 dual singles victories.
Collins, Horny and Laine have all posted two wins over nationally-ranked singles players this season.
