GREENSBORO, N.C. -
The Maryland women's basketball team will play host to Michigan in the 2011 Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Wednesday, Nov. 30 the two conferences announced Thursday.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams. The Terps are 4-0 in their Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchups, most recently erasing an 11-point deficit to win at Purdue 56-55 on Dec. 2 of last year. Michigan is the only undefeated Big Ten squad in the Challenge.
The ACC has won all four previous Challenge titles, while in 2010 the ACC narrowly edged the competition, winning six of the 11 ACC/Big Ten Challenge games. The ACC holds the 28-16 edge since the beginning of the Challenge.
Since the 1999-2000 season, the two conferences have squared off in head-to-head competition on 115 occasions with the ACC holding a 64-51 advantage. Last season, the Big Ten boasted a 9-7 record over ACC teams.
