Terps Take Second in Quad Meet

ROME, Ga. - The Maryland acrobatics & tumbling team took second in its quad meet Saturday, beating Quinnipiac and Fairmont State and falling to Oregon in Rome, Ga.
Maryland finished in second with 284.11 points, Fairmont State in third with 280.675 and Quinnipiac in fourth with 279.54 points. The Ducks won the meet with an overall score of 287.84.
The Terrapins earned two scores of 10.0 in the compulsory round, but trailed Oregon, 39.70 to 39.15 after that first event.
Maryland won the acro event, 29.13. Oregon followed close behind with a 29.08. In the pyramid round, the Terrapins finished with a 29.25.
The Terps' 29.15 took the toss event. Quinnipiac finished second in that event with a 28.80.
Maryland finished second in the tumbling event with a 56.6 to Oregon's 58.10.
Oregon pulled out the team routine event with a 102.71, while Maryland finished with a 101.400.
Next, the Terrapins head to Baylor next weekend. They will take on the Bears at 6 p.m. CT Saturday in Waco, Texas.
