Terrapins Triumph at Fairmont State

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland acrobatics and tumbling team outlasted Fairmont State, 291.150 to 286.650, Friday evening to win its fourth straight meet.
The Terrapins won the compulsory, pyramid, tumbling and team routine events, while the Falcons narrowly won the toss and acro.
Maryland's meet total is the team's highest this season. The Terps previously scored a 290.560 in a win over Quinnipiac on March 9.
The Terps opened the regular-season finale with a 39.5 to 38.8 win the compulsories event, but the Falcons battled back to win the acro event, 29.05 to 28.80, to cut Maryland's lead.
Maryland rallied in the pyramid event, and carried a 97.80 to 97.20 advantage into halftime.
Coming out of the break, the Falcons won the toss event with a total of 126.10 to the Terps' 126.40, cutting the lead to .30. Maryland then won the tumbling round, 58.65 to 56.40, to take a 185.05 to 182.50 lead into the final event.
The Terps scored a 106.450 in the team routine to the Falcons' 104.150, cementing the victory.
Next up for the Terps is the NCATA Championships in Waco, Texas, from April 26 to 28.
