April 26, 2012
WACO, Texas - Three members of the Maryland acrobatics & tumbling team were named All-Americans Wednesday night at the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association's annual banquet, hosted by Baylor University.
Freshman Brittany Burkhard, junior Danielle Jenkins, and senior Lauren Shannon were three of the 12 All-Americans, as voted by the league's six head coaches. Jenkins and Shannon earned All-American honors last year, in the league's inaugural season.
A new award that was added to the NCATA's list of awards was the Louise Goodrum Academic Achievement Award, which was presented to senior Lindsey Kaufmann.
