Final Scores 
WACO, Texas - The top-seeded Maryland acrobatics & tumbling team beat fifth-seeded Azusa Pacific 276.230 to 273.695 in the NCATA national semifinals Friday in Waco, Texas at Baylor University's Ferrell Center. With the win, the Terrapins advance to Saturday's national championship meet for the second straight year.
After trailing in the first two events, the Terrapins (9-1) took the lead in the pyramid round and never looked back.
The Terps and the Cougars (4-5) tied in the opening round, compulsories, with scores of 38.80. Azusa Pacific took a narrow lead in the next event, acro, with a 28.19 to 27.90 to lead 66.99 to 66.70.
Maryland used three strong toss heats to take the lead for good. They used scores of 9.65, 9.80 and 9.85 for an event score of 29.30 to Azusa Pacific's 27.40. They led 96.00 to 94.39 at halftime.
Coming out of the break, the Terps took the toss event, 28.25 to 27.55. Maryland held its lead with a 57.15 to APU's 55.825 in the tumbling event. The Terrapins led 181.40 to 177.765 heading into the final event, the team routine.
The Terrapins fought through a pyramid issue and a tumbling issue in the team routine for their score of 94.83 to Azusa Pacific's 95.93.
The top-seeded Terrapins will take on second-seeded Oregon Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET in the team national championship.
