Maryland Falls in NCAA Tournament
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The George Mason women;s soccer
(14-5-4) team advanced to the second round of the NCAA
Tournament by defeating Maryland (12-9-3) at Ludwig Field
today, 2-1. George Mason took an early lead at 24:12, when
senior forward Taylor Eubank scored after Maryland's freshamn
goalkeeper Alli Wolff stopped her initial shot. Maryland got on
the board at the 79:16 mark when junior forward Keri Sarver
scored her 15th goal of the season, assisted by junior
midfielder Robin McCullough.
George Mason retaliated 1:41 later as sophomore Faith
Klapinski scored her first career goal, assisted by senior
midfielder Julie Ames. George Mason will travel to Harvard next
week, where they will face the Crimson in the second round of
the NCAA Tournament.
