Bringing an unending competitive spirit and a knowledge of the finer points of the game, Ali Wolff-Toole begins her third season as an assistant coach, working primarily with the goalkeepers. Her responsibilities also include recruiting and overseeing general aspects of the women's soccer program.
During her first season at Maryland, Wolff-Toole was instrumental in the development of third team All-Mid-Atlantic goalkeeper Nikki Resnick, who made 115 saves in 2004, which ranks second on the school's single-season record list.
Wolff-Toole's second season saw Resnick make more strides, saving 115 shots for the second season in a row and being named the the All-ACC first team after leading the conference in saves per game. Wolff-Toole's goalkeepers turned in six shutouts in 2005.
Prior to returning to her alma mater, Wolff-Toole served as an assistant coach at Loyola College for two years. At Loyola, she was responsible for training the Greyhound goalkeepers and has also coached at Loyola and Maryland women's soccer camps.
Wolff-Toole was a goalkeeper for Maryland from 1997-2001 and still ranks among the all-time leaders in shutouts (1st, 20.5), games played (2nd, 68), games started (2nd, 63), minutes played (2nd, 5,513), saves (3rd, 254) and goals against average (5th, 1.57). An All-ACC honoree during her senior campaign in 2001, Wolff-Toole led all conference keepers in shutouts against conference opponents (three) and was among the ACC leaders with nine total shutouts. Her save percentage that season, .765, was also among the best in the conference.
Wolff-Toole married Maryland alum and former Terp golfer Peter Toole on August 9, 2003. She graduated from Maryland in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology.
